Welcome, dear reader,
This is the first edition of 'The Lean Data Journal', your daily chronicle diving into the universe of NaasAI - the universal Data & AI platform. This newsletter is not just yet another product update; it's a testament to our journey and commitment toward becoming the world's leanest data platform.
We aim to turn this newsletter into a chronicle, sharing our progress, unveiling new ideas, and new features, as well as discussing insights about the ever-evolving data & AI market. We also aspire to dive deep into our mission of leading the data & AI product development category, in a lean, zero waste, zero BS way.
This exciting odyssey won't be a smooth ride - it has already been quite choppy – data & AI is a landscape full of challenges. Thanks to the awesome community and early adopters that you are part of, we aim to transform these challenges into opportunities, making strides one day at a time. Resiliency and consistency are key.
Announcing What's Coming Next
We are launching this newsletter on the back of a significant milestone: the transition from Naas.ai v1 to the v2 alpha version. One of the key additions to Naas v2 is the rebranding of the historical Naas app to Naas Lab. Building the v1 on top of Jupyter Lab was great, we've incorporated features that automate workflow with notebooks so anyone with a Naas account has access to a scheduler, pipelines, asset-sharing capabilities, notifications, webhooks, and more. We are now actively working behind the scenes to create a unified experience by making all Naas services accessible through a single API Gateway. This ensures that our features are seamlessly available outside and inside the Naas ecosystem, empowering users to leverage the full potential of our platform.
But we're not stopping there.
A Google-like search feature has been added on top of our Notebook templates catalog, making it easier than ever for users to find suitable templates than the GitHub repository we are maintaining with the community. We heard your feedback about the plethora of templates not easy to find, and we responded with a bold move. The Naas Search is now the result you get when you type naas.ai in your browser.
Another exciting feature already available in limited alpha is a ChatGPT-like interface we called MyChatGPT, an place where data products from the Naas Lab can be distributed with ease and efficiency as plugins. It's an innovative approach to making NaasAI even more user-friendly, most of all appealing to both Data Consumers and Producers, and to create a more open alternative to the plugins store openAI is building.
Given these significant developments and our commitment to open source and transparency, we felt the need to gather all our communication into one single place, without feeling that we are spamming you. Our goal is to deliver value to you, by keeping you updated, informed, and involved. If you feel like you don’t want to receive this kind of update, you can unsubscribe and we will not bother you again.
Anyone who subscribes to this newsletter will be granted an exclusive opportunity to contribute their invaluable feedback towards the enhancement of Naas v2. It's not just a unique chance to preview our latest developments, but also a platform for you to actively participate in shaping the future of NaasAI. Your voice matters to us, and we are eager to integrate your insights into the platform.
Moreover, we want to acknowledge and appreciate your efforts in spreading the word about NaasAI. If you share our mission and values on your social media accounts, you can claim extra Naas credits! All you need to do is reply to this email with the link to your publication.
Again thank you for being part of this exciting journey. Let's navigate together the future of data & AI product development, and build a lean and sustainable open source data & AI platform, one step at a time.
Stay tuned 🎶
PS: we've started using GitHub Discussions as a forum for open and transparent dialogue about our ongoing projects. Please feel free to share ideas and feedback over there.
